HAVU lifted the Assembly Winter 2018 trophy and claimed the $8,000 first place prize after a 2-1 win over LDLC (16-11 Mirage, 7-16 Inferno, 16-2 Nuke).
The first match of the grand final, Mirage, saw HAVU and LDLC trade rounds back and forth, with neither side being able to establish themselves. The domestic team finally managed to shift the match in their favor as Jesse "KHRN" Grandell and Samu "uli" Leirilaakso picked up doubles that made the score 5-3.
From that point, the Finns were confident, securing a 10-5 Counter-Terrorist half, and they added three more rounds to their tally at the start of the second half, winning the pistol and two follow-ups. Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans's side put up a fight on the defensive side, securing six consecutive rounds, but HAVU closed out the map in the end, with a 16-11 scoreline.
Similar to Mirage, Inferno started with force-buys wins being traded back and forth, but LDLC was the first team to secure back-to-back rounds this time, taking control of the economy,
The Frenchmen went up to a 5-2 off the back of that and cruised to a comfortable 9-6 Terrorist half finish thanks to a brilliant performance by Alex "ALEX" McMeekin. The British player broke the 30 kill mark as his team had a comfortable second half, losing only one round to the Finnish side as Counter-Terrorists.
The deciding map was Nuke, where HAVU got to start to the CT side. The defensive side was going well for the Finns, who managed a "perfect reset", winning the first three rounds, losing the first gun round, but winning the followup.
With KHRN on point and the momentum going their way, HAVU managed a near-perfect 13-2 CT side on the decider. After the switch, the domestic side closed out the game by winning the first three rounds, making the score on Nuke 16-2 and winning the series 2-1.
